She is passionate about helping students build confidence in reading, writing, and critical thinking, while empowering teachers with the resources they need to thrive. Now in her second year as principal, Ms. Walker is thrilled to build on the incredible foundations laid last year, dedicating her time to leading our school community, championing our staff, and ensuring every student at MAS has an engaging, high-quality learning environment.

Ms. Stephens is a fifth-generation Marion County native who has been keeping the front office running smoothly at McIntosh Area School since 2017. Her deep community roots and dedication make her an invaluable resource for families and staff alike.

Hello! My name is Penny Crosby, and I am so excited to be your child's Pre-K teacher this year!
This is my first year teaching, and I am thrilled to begin this wonderful journey of helping young
learners grow, explore, and build a love for learning.
I look forward to creating a fun, engaging, and nurturing classroom where every child feels
valued and encouraged to reach their full potential. I can't wait to get to know each of my
students and partner with their families to make this a fantastic school year!

Mrs. Mentzer is a seasoned educator with over 20 years of experience and a proven track record of student achievement. Originally from Washington, D.C., she brings a wealth of knowledge and dedication to the McIntosh Area School community.

Ms. Woods brings experience teaching both general education and ESE students in Marion County, along with a background in family services that deepens her commitment to student well-being. She holds a Master's in Management and Leadership from Webster University and a Bachelor's in Business Management from the College of Central Florida. Her classroom is warm and hands-on, with excellent management and differentiated instruction that helps every child feel comfortable, confident, and ready to explore and grow. She is thrilled to be a part of the MAS family. Currently, Ms. Woods is teaching out of field while she completes the necessary exams to move her temporary certificate to the 5 year professional certification. 

Mrs. Palmer was born and raised in Louisiana and comes from a teaching family - both her mother and sister are educators, and she grew up helping her mother set up classrooms. She joined MAS as a paraprofessional last year, spearheaded our summer program, and is now moving up from teacher candidate to lead teacher, taking on 3rd grade this year. She is currently finishing her degree in Biblical and Christian Studies. She is teaching out of field while being mentored by Ms. Walker until she is able to take her Elementary Ed exams.

A mother of 11, Mrs. Palmer knows a thing or two about patience, love, and keeping a lively classroom running smoothly! Outside of school, she loves animals, gardening, and time in nature. We're so excited to welcome her to her new role this year!

Originally from Orlando, Florida, Mr. Greenberg brings over three decades of military experience and a wealth of international perspective from his years living in Europe. He earned his degree from Keiser University. Mr. Greenberg is being mentored by Ms. Walker but is teaching out of field while he continues working toward his professional teaching certification through the State of Florida’s military veteran pathway.MAS is thrilled to have Mr. Greenberg back in our community and looks forward to the continued positive impact he will make on our upper elementary students and school.

​Shiva earned their paraprofessional certification straight out of high school and has spent over two years providing instructional support and collaborating with teachers to create engaging learning experiences.

With 20 years of experience in education, I've dedicated my career to supporting students as an Instructional Exceptional Student Education (ESE) Paraprofessional. My passion for working with children started at age 15 in an after-school program, and I've been committed to student success ever since. Born and raised in Gainesville, FL, I bring individualized academic, behavioral, and social-emotional support to every student I work with, fostering an inclusive, positive learning environment.
Throughout my career, I've collaborated closely with teachers, administrators, families, and support staff to implement instructional plans, encourage growth, and build student independence. My strengths — patience, compassion, strong communication, and adaptability — help me form meaningful relationships with students and support them in building confidence and reaching their goals.

We are excited to welcome back one of our own — Zoie Liopiros - a true McIntosh Area School success story!

Zoie is a proud MAS alumna who has come full circle, returning to the school where her own journey began to help shape the next generation of Eagles. She also comes from a long line of educators — including her grandmother, our very own Mrs. Mentzer — so you could say teaching is in her DNA!

Zoie has a passion for working with young children and believes in the power of hands-on, experiential learning to spark curiosity and build a lifelong love of education. She brings creativity into her classroom every day, including a love of drawing that she shares with her students to make learning engaging and fun.

Isaiah Christopher Dudley was born and raised in Chiefland, Florida, and is proud to serve the community as an educator. After spending nine years as a United States Navy Aircrewman, he brings leadership, dedication, and a passion for helping others to the classroom. Isaiah and his wife are proud parents of two children. He looks forward to inspiring his students while continuing to grow as an educator and making a positive impact on both the school and the community.

Mrs. Greenberg served as a nuclear engineer in the Navy and is joining MAS through the SkillBridge program as she transitions out of active duty. She brings an abundance of energy and dedication to our school community — along with talents as a published author and musician! Her husband, Mr. Greenberg, is our 4th and 5th grade teacher.

Mrs. Greenberg is also a busy mom of 3 Little Eagles who attend MAS with her. We're thrilled to welcome her aboard!
