McIntosh Area School — Open Enrollment Policy

Eligibility: McIntosh Area School (MAS) is open to all K–5 students residing in Florida. No student is assigned or zoned to MAS — enrollment is a choice made by families. Students currently under active expulsion or suspension are not eligible for enrollment under controlled open enrollment.

How to Apply: Families interested in enrolling their child at MAS may submit an application at any time during the open enrollment period by:

  • Completing the MAS Enrollment Application (available at the school office or by request at info@mcintosheagles.com)

  • Submitting required documentation including proof of age, immunization records, and most recent report card or school records

Enrollment Priority: Applications are accepted on a first-come, first-served basis until capacity is reached at each grade level. The following students receive enrollment preference in this order:

  1. Siblings of currently enrolled students

  2. Children of full-time MAS staff members

  3. All other applicants in order of application date

When Capacity is Reached: If the number of applications for a grade level exceeds available capacity, MAS will conduct a random lottery selection. Families will be notified in writing of lottery dates. Students not selected will be placed on a waitlist in lottery order and contacted if a seat becomes available.

Continuous Enrollment: Currently enrolled students in good standing are automatically re-enrolled for the following school year and do not need to reapply.

Students with Disabilities & ELL Students: Students with disabilities and English Language Learners have an equal opportunity to be selected for enrollment and will receive all required services upon enrollment in accordance with Florida law.
